How do I decrease my credit limit?

You can decrease your credit limit via the Citi Mobile App, Citi Online or by calling us.

 

Citi Mobile® App

1. Log in to the Citi Mobile® App.

2. Tap the 'Profile & Settings' icon on the top left of the screen.

3. Tap ‘Credit limit decrease’.

Citi Online

1. Sign on to your Citi Online account.

2. Click on ‘Services’ from the top navigation.

3. Select ‘Card Services’ from the dropdown menu.

4. Select ‘Manage My Accounts’ and follow the prompts.

Increase your credit limit

Can I apply to increase my credit limit?

Yes, you can apply for a credit limit increase provided that:

  • your account has been open and in good standing (for example – your account is not in default, suspended or closed) for a minimum period of 6 months; and
  • you have not received a credit limit increase within the past 6 months.

Step 2

Confirm your current income. To help with the process, please send your supporting documents to newca1@citi.com. You may also receive a follow up call from our Verification Team if further income verification is required.

When will I know if my request has been approved?

It can take up to 11 business days for us to assess your application and to inform you of the outcome.

Important things to note:

  • Currently, the maximum increase that may be permitted at any one time is $10,000.
  • Credit limits cannot exceed the maximum credit limit for each product.
  • All credit limit increase requests are subject to and assessed in accordance with our credit criteria.
  • As part of the assessment process, we will obtain a copy of your credit report from one or more credit reporting bodies.
