What is the Citi Mobile® Token?
The Citi Mobile® Token is a feature within the Citi Mobile® App. When you turn it on, you can generate a One-Time PIN (OTP) via the app, even when you're offline. The OTP is a unique, randomly generated, single use six-digit PIN that you'll be asked for, to authenticate some actions – like payments and transfers, adding a new payee, and updating your contact details.
How to activate your Citi Mobile® Token
To start generating OTPs via the app, you'll need to set up your Citi Mobile® Token in the Citi Mobile® App.

Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed before following these steps.
- Tap the 'Profile and Settings' icon on the top left of your app home screen
- Select 'Citi Mobile® Token' under ‘App and security settings’
- Select 'Citi Mobile® Token'
- Tap 'Create Unlock Code'
- Create your 4-digit Unlock Code. Re-enter it to confirm.
Note, Citi Mobile® Token can only be enabled on one mobile device.
Generating a One-Time PIN (OTP) with your Citi Mobile® Token
You can generate an OTP via the Citi Mobile® App by tapping on 'Citi Mobile® Token' from your log in screen, before you've logged in. This is especially handy if you're in a hurry.
Or, when you've logged in, by following these steps:
- Tap the 'Profile and Settings' icon on the top left of your app home screen
- Tap 'Generate OTP' under 'App and Security Settings'
- Enter your 4-digit Unlock Code (this is the code you nominated when setting up the Citi Mobile® Token)
- The One-Time PIN (OTP) will be generated, and you can use it to proceed with your transaction
