5 things to consider before you travel overseas

1. If you don’t have a Citi Global Currency Account already, apply for one.

2. Download the Citi Mobile® App to easily access and manage your account on the go.

If your card is lost or stolen, you can report it in the app — there will be an immediate block on your card to prevent unauthorized activity. Please note this will deactivate your Card permanently – your account will remain open. Just call us on +61 2 8225 0615 when you're ready to order a replacement to your current registered address.

Prefer to have foreign cash on hand? If you have a Citi Global Currency Account, turn on Smart Wallet to add foreign currency accounts instantly in the app so you can have local money ready to go for easy withdrawal at your destination. Plus, once turned on, there’s no need to manually link your debit card between currency accounts - Smart Wallet will automatically detect the currency you’re transacting in and pull from the matching currency account if available. Moving money between your currency accounts is easy and immediate, and there are no fees to do so.


3. If you need to reach us in an emergency while abroad, call us on +61 2 8225 0615.


4. Make sure your card isn’t about to expire.

We usually issue your replacement card the month before your card’s expiration - if you need to order an early replacement, you can do so by calling us on +61 2 8225 0615.


5. Take advantage of Mastercard Travel Rewards.

Citi Mastercard account holders can take advantage of Mastercard Travel Rewards and enjoy automatic cashback from participating restaurants, hotels and brands around the world. There is no need to enroll - with the Citi Global Currency Account you automatically have access.
